Police briefs 04/26/06

A 19-year-old female student reported she was assaulted by an 18-year-old male student shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday in Mason Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The woman reported she asked the man, her roommate's boyfriend, to leave her room after her roommate had already left. The man left, then returned later and allegedly pushed the woman in the chest as she stood in the doorway. She reported he pushed her several times, but she was not injured and is unsure if she wants to press charges, McGlothian-Taylor said. The case is still under investigation.An 18-year-old student reported she was assaulted by her friend's boyfriend at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Yakeley Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student allegedly hit the man first, and he hit back. People in the area broke the fight up, and the suspect left before police arrived. The case is still under investigation.Melissa Domsic
