Police briefs 04/12/06

A 59-year-old university employee reported about $15 worth of gas stolen from her car parked in a lot between North and South Shaw lanes between 4:30 p.m. Friday and about 1 a.m. Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The fuel cover was open, the cap was under the car and about half of a tank of gas was missing.A 21-year-old student reported losing $350 worth of clothes and bedding to a fire in a Spartan Village dryer at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The fire was out by the time firefighters arrived, but they did find lint a few inches thick and bird nests behind the dryer's access panel.A 20-year-old student reported her $300 cell phone stolen at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said she left the phone unattended in a North Hubbard Hall room for a few minutes.A door's glass window was broken at the Natural Resources Building between 10 p.m. Friday and about 2 p.m. Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The door appeared to have been kicked, and the loss is estimated at about $350.Melissa Domsic
