A 19-year-old student reported being assaulted by a 19-year-old man from Beverly Hills, Mich., in her East Wilson Hall room at about 8 p.m. March 3, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said she tried to return a television to the suspect, who pushed her down while she was still carrying it, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student had two bruises on her leg and a scratch on her arm and refused medical attention. The student said after she was knocked down, the suspect broke several items in her room, including a mirror.A 48-year-old woman reported almost $1,500 stolen from an unlocked cash box at the Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The box was hidden behind a table display at the Michigan Horse Council Stallion Expo. There are no suspects, and the case is still under investigation.A 42-year-old student reported $400 in damage done to his car between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The 2001 Chevrolet Lumina was parked near the 1600 block of Spartan Village, and an unknown tool was used to dent the car.A 19-year-old student reported receiving harassing online instant messages from a 24-year-old East Lansing man since last December, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student, who lives in West Akers Hall, said she met the man while he was visiting her roommate. She said he has been sending her harassing instant messages since then.Melissa Domsic
