Tonight:

The Legendary Shack-Shakers, Scott H. Biram and Honest D & The Steel Reserve will perform in Lansing at The Temple Club, 500 E. Friday:

The Battle of the Bands competition takes place from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the International Center. The top three bands will win $3,000 in gift certificates for Elderly Instruments.

Hank III and Bob Wayne will perform in Lansing at The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. 18 and older are welcome, and tickets are $8 in advance.

Andy Rourke will perform a DJ set with DJ Ruckus in Lansing at The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. 18 and older are welcome, and woman will get in free. Men will be charged $9 in advance. The show is in the Red Light Lounge and doors open at 10 p.m.

Saturday:

The Fab Four Fan Festival — focused on The Beatles — begins at 9 p.m. in the International Center with a showing of the film "A Hard Day's Night." After the movie, Beatles tribute band YellowSub Marines will play at 10:30 p.m. During the band's sets, there will be a Beatles memorabilia giveaway.

Neko Case and the High Dials will perform in Lansing at The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. All ages are welcome and tickets are $20 in advance. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Sounds of Blackness will perform at Wharton Center in the Cobb Great Hall. Tickets are $15 for students and range between $20 and $35 for the general public. For more information, go to www.whartoncenter.com.

ARTS

Ongoing:

Kresge Art Museum has a "Master of Fine Arts Exhibition" on display. Three M.F.A. students' work will be featured in the show until April 9. Also at Kresge is the "Obras de México: Images of Hispanic Life and Culture." The prints and sculptures from Mexico will be at the museum until April 30. Admission is free and the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except Thursday. On Thursday the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.artmuseum.msu.edu.

Thursday:

MSU's Department of Theatre presents William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." Performances are at the Pasant Theatre. The play starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8.50. For more information, go to www.theatre.msu.edu.

"Five Women Wearing the Same Dress," a comedy about bridesmaids, opens tonight at Riverwalk Theatre, 228 Museum Dr., in Lansing. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $12 for the public. MISCELLANEOUS

Sunday:

The 43rd Michigan Antiquarian Book & Paper Show will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave. The show will have more than 250 tables featuring first editions, children's books, magazines, rare books, sheet music and cookbooks, among others. Admission is $4.50 and free for children 13 and younger.

Wednesday:

The Underground Denim Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Union Ballroom. Jeans, sweats and tops will be on sale.

MSU's Apparel & Textile Design Showcase will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the main lounge of the Union.

Open Mic Night begins at 8 p.m. in the main lounge of the Union — sign up to perform upon arrival.
