Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Wells Hall is playing "Just Like Heaven," "A History of Violence," "Elizabethtown" and "Junebug." "Junebug" is an East Lansing Film Society movie. The movies are free to undergraduate residence hall students and $2 for all others. The East Lansing Film Society shows are $3 for students, and $6 for the public. MUSIC
Friday: Folk singer Robbie Fulks will be headlining at The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing. Lansing-twang band Flatfoot will be opening. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance. At the door, tickets are $8 for folks over 21 and $10 for folks under 21.
Friday: The Battle Scars, The Eastern Block and The Boxcutters will all be playing at Mac's Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing. Tickets are $5 and the show is 21 and older.
Friday and Saturday: Soulstice will be playing from 9:30 p.m. until close at The Green Door, 2005 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. There will be a cover charge.
Saturday: The Gentleman Callers are having their CD release party at Mac's Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. Tickets are $5 at the door and the show is 21 and older.
Saturday: The International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella will be held at 8 p.m. at the Pasant Theatre in the Wharton Center. It will feature four a cappella groups from MSU as well as groups from surrounding colleges. The winners will go on to compete in the regional competition. Tickets cost $7. MISCELLANEOUS
Saturday: MSU students will perform a free, annual talent show based on Showtime at the Apollo from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the International Center.
Contestants, including singers, dancers, jugglers and mimes, will compete for cash prizes in the show, called "Showtyme at MSU." The event is part of the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and is put on by the MLK Jr. Student Activities Planning Committee and the University Activities Board.
Friday: A "Vegas Fever" Casino Night will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the second floor of the Union. The free event will feature Blackjack, Texas Hold 'Em, slot machines, roulette, live music and magic from the MSU Magicians' Club.
A Texas Hold 'Em tournament for a PlayStation Portable will start at 8 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to the five players who make it to the final table. Those interested should sign up by calling (517) 355-3354 or visiting the University Activities Board office in room 322 of the Union.
Prizes for the night include the grand prize of a trip for two to Chicago and gift certificates for restaurants, tanning, Spartan Bookstore and tickets to see Keith Urban in concert, among other items.
Tuesday: MTV will come to campus to hold an open casting call for the TV show MADE, and to be a part of MTV's Spring Break. The auditions will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the parlour rooms on the second floor of the Union. Fill out a MADE casting questionnaire at www.uabevents.com or pick one up when you get there.
