Students across campus experienced troubles with Internet service starting at about 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
Network staff were working with the campus network provider, Merit, to fix the problem, said Richard Wiggins, senior information technologist for the Academic Computing and Network Services.
The problems could have been caused from some sort of network failure or because an attack on the system occurred. It is usually fixed within an hour, Wiggins said.
At about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the system was restored.
