A female student was emptying objects from a box in the main office of the MSU Power Plant on Thursday when she felt an intense burning in both eyes caused by a white, powdery substance in the bottom of the box, an MSU police report states.The student was taken to Olin Health Center, where her eyes were flushed, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. There is no permanent damage to her eyes, McGlothian-Taylor said.The Office of Radiation, Chemical & Biological Safety sent a team to test the substance and determined it to be both a food substance and a powder commonly used at the plant, McGlothian-Taylor said. A golf cart was stolen from its parking spot at the west side of Spartan Stadium on Saturday evening, McGlothian-Taylor said. Shortly after an officer spoke with the employee who reported the crime, the officer located the cart at Wilson Road near Chestnut Road, McGlothian-Taylor said.The cart was returned to the employee, she said.Margaret Harding
