An Okemos resident driving on Michigan Avenue crossed three lanes of traffic, hit a curb, a tree and then a parked car, which then hit another parked car on Sunday when he popped the clutch of his stick-shift vehicle early, an MSU police report states. The man told police he couldn't have been driving any faster than 35 mph when he struck the curb, MSU police Lt. Scott Beckner said. There were no reported injuries and the driver was cited for careless driving, Beckner said. A vehicle driving south on Farm Lane disregarded a red light and was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Service Road on Sunday, Beckner said. There were eight passengers, seven of which were transported to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital, he said. One of the passengers was in serious condition, the others were treated and released he said.A third car was also struck by the car that ran the red light, he said. Eight gallons of gas were taken from an MSU student's car after she parked overnight in Lot 20, Beckner said. The student told police she had a full tank of gas when she parked in front of East Holmes Hall at 6 p.m. Friday, but on Saturday she found it to be eight gallons low, Beckner said. The estimated value of the gas was $18.40, he said.Margaret Harding
