Everybody has had sherbet at one time in their lives. However, you may never have thought to try serving sherbet at one of your parties. Admit it the idea of sherbet seems a little bit childish. Well, The Bartender would like to suggest a sherbet drink you can serve proudly. We call it a Hard Island Smoothie.
Supplies:
Blender
Glasses
Something to scoop with
Ingredients:
Sherbet: you'll need at least 1 quart. Buy more if you plan on making more than one batch.
7UP
Rum: The Bartender went the cheap route with Heaven Hill because the sherbet and 7UP mask the taste.
Directions:
Start by putting about 1 quart of your favorite sherbet flavor into the blender. Add about six shots of light rum, and three-fourths of a cup of 7UP. Mix until you get it to the desired thickness. For a thicker drink, add more sherbet. To thin add more 7UP.
Serves:
About five 10- to 12-ounce drinks.
When best to serve?
Anytime you're in the mood for sipping a tropical drink, even if you're just in your living room pretending it's not really 35 degrees outside.
How many 'til you're tipsy? Like a daiquiri or margarita, these are stronger than they taste.
Limit your consumption to 2-4 depending on your personal tolerance.
