Josh Shyu defines style as "untainted self-expression."
The psychology freshman prefers using color and accessories to jazz up his wardrobe. His eclectic mix makes him a standout on East Lansing streets.
Shyu said when people look at his clothes, he hopes they see a person that would be fun to be around.
The "stand-out" elements:
Hat: From Urban Outfitters. Shyu said he liked the style, especially because he's a big fan of pin stripes.
Layers: "I feel naked if I don't layer," Shyu said. "It's different levels of expression." Shyu said he stole the top shirt from his girlfriend.
Belt: White, studded and with the buckle on the side draws attention.
Wristband: "I've got a ton," Shyu said. "They're more sporty, it's a combination of different styles in one outfit."
Jeans: Shyu said his jeans are women's jeans from Express. "I wish I was a rock star so I like to wear tighter jeans," said Shyu, who plays piano and guitar and is in a band.
Shoes: A splash of color (the shoes are bright yellow Converse) and a sneaker style add a laid-back and fun touch to the outfit.
