Ah, Malibu. One of California's most beautiful cities. Or one of Chevrolet's most beautiful cars - old school, of course. Maybe you know "Malibu" as a forgettable song by Courtney Love's band, Hole. But, come on - say the word, and it instantly conjures up a funnel-shaped bottle adorned with palm trees. Because Malibu is one of the most mixable rums on the market, The Bartender presents a few different ways you can use it. So crank up that "Celebrity Skin" CD and let's get to work.

Dr. Malibu
An interesting twist, it's a mixture of Dr Pepper and Malibu coconut rum.
You'll need:
2 shots of Malibu coconut rum
12 ounces (a can, probably) of regular Dr Pepper
Mix and add ice. We know it sounds like a weird combination, but it's been tried and true.

This recipe is for fans of the original Vanilla Coke, with the added benefit of getting you a little tipsy.
You'll need:
2 shots of Malibu coconut rum
12 ounces of regular Coca-Cola

"Key West" Coke
A fun, tropical taste that's pretty simple to make.
You'll need:
2 shots of Malibu mango rum
12 ounces of regular Coca-Cola
Mix and add ice. It won't taste like Coke or Malibu, but rather some fruity, Capri Sun-esque concoction.

Two basic fruit drinks with a hint of the good stuff.
You'll need:
At least 2 shots of Malibu coconut rum

Each drink serves: One
When best to serve? Watching some California-themed movie, such as "Beverly Hills Cop," "Clueless," "Encino Man" or "The Stoned Age."
How many 'til tipsy: Malibu rums aren't that strong, so you could use a few for a good buzz. Beware of binge drinking, however.
