A Western Michigan University student was robbed of his Nextel cell phone early Saturday morning on S. Harrison Road, near Brody Hall, according to MSU police. The student was approached by four men as he sat in his 2003 red Pontiac Vibe. One of the men asked to borrow his cell phone and grabbed it, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.As the student drove away, he realized his front passenger tire was flat, McGlothian-Taylor said. Police found eight punctures in the tire. The total loss is estimated at $250. A female student told MSU police she was assaulted on the sidewalk between Hubbard Hall and parking Lot 91 on Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said she was meeting another female to return property and an argument broke out, resulting in the female smacking the student in the face with an open hand, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student declined medical treatment. An Armstrong Hall resident awoke early Sunday morning to find three males in her dorm room, one of whom had begun to climb the ladder to her loft, an MSU police report states. One of the men told her not to scream, but the student screamed and the three left the room laughing, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student locked her dorm room, but later talked to neighbors who said intoxicated males had been running through the halls and banging on doors, McGlothian-Taylor said.Margaret Harding
