• MSU police have identified the man found dead in the Union on Sunday night as James Blakeney, of Laingsburg.The 54 year old had no university affiliation, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. An autopsy report performed at Lansing's Sparrow Hospital revealed a "natural manner" of death, Ingham County Medical Director Dean Sienko said."There were disease processes in his body," Sienko said. "We're doing a microscopic examination to determine exactly what that is. "There was no evidence of foul play."Blakeney had been dead for about an hour when East Lansing medics arrived, McGlothian-Taylor said.On Sunday, a fraternity holding a meeting in the lobby of the Union noticed the man, but thought he was asleep, a member said. At the end of the session, they realized he wasn't breathing and a Union employee contacted the police.• An MSU student was hit head on by a bicyclist through Adams Field on Monday. She was walking southbound on the sidewalk when the northbound bicyclist swerved to avoid a sprinkler and crashed into her, according to an MSU police report.The bicyclist stopped briefly, then left the scene without identifying himself, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was injured on her upper leg, right knee and forehead, and was taken to Olin Health Center.The accident caused an estimated damage of $60 to the student's low-ride blue jeans, which were torn, McGlothian-Taylor said.• A hit-and-run accident took place at Farm and North Shaw lanes on Monday. A 2000 silver GMC Sonoma had stopped for traffic when a second vehicle, described only as "burgundy," struck the back of the truck, McGlothian-Taylor said. The second vehicle never stopped and MSU police are investigating the incident.Margaret Harding
