Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Five favorites

The State News presents five things going on in the world of pop culture that just might make your life a little bit better.

1. www.orisinal.com, a site full of games, featuring ones where you whack crabs with yo-yos and, depending on your opinion of them, help squirrels jump between window ledges - or swan dive off them.

2. "Why Do Men Have Nipples? Hundreds of Questions You'd Only Ask a Doctor After Your Third Martini," by Mark Leyner and Billy Goldberg, M.D. This book answers all those questions you'd only ask if you were wasted - such as, "Why does asparagus make my pee smell?" A fun and sometimes uncomfortable read that will leave you feeling like you've learned more than that entire semester in organic chemistry. $11.65 at Barnes & Noble, 333 E. Grand River Ave.

3. "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas - yet another sexually charged and obnoxiously catchy nonsensical song dominating stereos everywhere. There's more unnecessary designer label name dropping than a Gwen Stefani song, but it's got a hot beat with words you can ignore. Plus, you'll need any excuse not to listen to Ashlee Simpson's new song.

4. "Everybody Hates Chris," series premiere at 8 p.m. Thursday on UPN. Adolescent awkwardness mixed with Chris Rock's funny narrative make for a promising comedy.

5. Try the cusabi beef wrap, $7.25, Harrison Roadhouse, 720 Michigan Ave. A sun-dried tomato basil tortilla wraps up roast beef with veggies and a spicy, lip-smacking cucumber wasabi sauce for a unique flavor rare in East Lansing.
