Tonight, the band Bad Mamma Jamma will be playing a show at The Riviera Cafe Restaurant and Lounge, 231 M.A.C. Ave., as part of a charity event for Advent House ministries, 743 N. MLK Jr. Blvd., in Lansing.

The event is organized by Jesse Gibbings, an English senior, who said he believes in the program, which, among other things, runs a day program for children and tutors people for their general education diplomas. Gibbings said he wanted to do something to benefit the program.

"And, who doesn't want to get drunk for charity?" Gibbings said.

Doors open at 6 p.m., the opening band will play at 7 p.m. and Bad Mamma Jamma will start at about 10:30 p.m., Gibbings said. Admission is $1, the suggested donation is $3-5.
