Proposal 1:

Park millage renewal

The five-year renewal would provide support for Lansing's Department of Parks and Recreation through funds from taxable real property in Lansing.

Proposal 2:

Ottawa Street Power Station Development

Use of a portion of the Ottawa Street Power Station Building - which is currently vacant - would be given to private developers while devoting the rest of the building to city and state offices.

Candidates for Lansing Mayor are not the only names that will appear on the ballot Tuesday. Six candidates vie for a regular four-year term as an at-large Lansing City Council member. Voters will chose four candidates to continue on to the general election in November. The candidates are:

• Leon J. Black

• John Pollard

• Kathie Dunbar

• Brian C. Jeffries

• Bob Johnson

• Melissa Sue Robinson

Also, the Lansing City Council will be seeking a Ward 4 member - an area that includes the downtown - for a regular four-year term. The two candidates chosen in the primary will advance to the general election in November. The candidates are:

• Shirley M. Carter

• Tim Kaltenbach

• Brian C. Smith

• Geneva Smith
