A fire broke out in the copy room of a print shop on campus Tuesday evening, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 30-year-old MSU employee heard a popping sound and saw smoke coming from the room. He then found a fire extinguisher and proceeded to put out a small fire, located on the floor near a desk. It was probably caused by a small plastic fan.The man called 911, and the fire department responded. Some ceiling tiles, a light cover and a desk were damaged, McGlothian-Taylor said. The estimated value of the items is about $500. No injuries were reported.Kris Turner
