A kitchen fire, started just after 3 p.m. Wednesday by an unknown source, caused the first floor of 1014 Rosewood Ave. to burn and scorch the second floor.
The East Lansing Fire Department responded to a call from a neighbor who saw smoke. Fire Marshal Bob Pratt said the fire wasn't caused by anything suspicious. No one was home during the time of the fire.
