One of the great traditions for students attending a Big Ten university is the opportunity to attend the various sporting events played on campus. The ability to go to games and join student groups are no exception at MSU.

During the fall, students pack into Spartan Stadium to enjoy home football games against Big Ten foes.

Students have the opportunity to buy regular student tickets to each game and sit on a first-come-first-serve basis in designated student seating sections. They also have the option of choosing to join the rowdy Corner Blitz section.

For $22 more than the regular student ticket price, students sit in a designated area in the stadium, wear matching T-shirts, and have their own entrance into the stadium to avoid the hassle of long lines.

Corner Blitz members also have the opportunity to travel to away games, all by simply applying to be in the section on the ticket application mailed out to students in the summer.

MSU also offers student sections for its two main winter sports - basketball and hockey.

MSU's hockey student section, Spartan Slapshots, offers students ticket packages for half the games, or all of the games and gives members the option of traveling to away games. Members sit in a designated corner section and are given a group shirt to wear to all the games.

Similar to Corner Blitz, all students must do to get into the section is apply on the hockey ticket application form.

The Izzone, named for MSU men's head basketball coach Tom Izzo, is perhaps the most famous student cheering section on campus - and it rivals other college cheering sections across the country.

With about 4,000 members, the Izzone is the largest student-run spirit section in all of college basketball.

Unlike Corner Blitz and Slapshots, membership to the Izzone is limited and pretty competitive. Students must camp out overnight in the fall to enter a lottery to get tickets.

Izzone students enjoy a courtside seating section to all home basketball games and the cheering section has been crucial to the team's success during the past several years.
