I wish to thank President Lou Anna K. Simon, provost John Hudzik and the MSU Board of Trustees for their support of the revised copyright policy that was approved unanimously by the board at their May 6 meeting. This important change in policy restores to faculty the rudimentary right to own the scholarship they produce, as is the case at our peer institutions, and it represents a positive step forward in faculty-administration relations.
