A 29-year-old student reported that the driver's side windshield of his vehicle was hit by a blunt object, cracking it and causing $300 in damage between 3:15 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Friday, said MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor.The man told police the damage caused a spiderweb effect on the window of his silver 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, parked in Lot 5, in the middle of the West Circle dorms.The case is still under investigation.• A 45-year-old employee reported $500 in damage to the basement door of a West Fee Hall elevator, McGlothian-Taylor said.Because of the marks on the door, it appeared someone had hit it with a hammer, she said.• Six students were arrested Thursday evening after attempting to steal a sign from Spartan Stadium at about 9:30 p.m., McGlothian-Taylor said.The 10-foot-3 sign, valued at $200, is green and white with a Nike swoosh and says "Spartan Sideline Shop," she said. The sign was recovered.The students range in age from 18 to 20, she said.The case is being forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, she said.Lauren Phillips
