A 19-year-old student reported being hit in the head with an Altoids Mints container at 3:55 a.m. Sunday in his Butterfield Hall dorm room, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student told police his door was open, and his back was turned toward the door while typing on his computer when he was hit on the back right side of his head. He did not see the person, but he did see four to six men run by his door right after, she said.The case is still under investigation.• A 20-year-old student reported that a $300 glass window was broken at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday in Butterfield Hall when another man punched it, McGlothian-Taylor said. The man, a 19-year-old from Bloomfield Hills and friend of the witness, reportedly punched the window after his girlfriend refused to hold his hand, McGlothian-Taylor said.The man declined medical treatment, spent the night in the East Lansing jail and was issued a trespass letter forbidding him to come to campus for one year, McGlothian-Taylor said.The case is being forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's office. The man also is being charged with minor in possession of alcohol.• A 21-year-old student reported $800 in damage was done to his 2003 Honda motorcycle at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday outside of Butterfield Hall. The student told police he heard a loud crash outside his dorm room, and when he looked out, he saw a man running away from the motorcycle.The motorcycle has a cracked left fender, a broken side marker lamp, a damaged rear clip-on and various scratches on its right fender and windshield, McGlothian-Taylor said.
