Police are still investigating a fire that destroyed a Waverly Park apartment building Tuesday afternoon after a car crashed into it, hitting a gas main.The driver, a 26-year-old Lansing man, remains hospitalized in an unknown condition, Lansing police Lt. Bruce Ferguson said. He added that the estimated damages are unknown at this point."Every person that lives there will have to estimate property values and what they lost," he said.Kristin Longley• A 20-year-old female student reported two former female friends called her repeatedly and subsequently broke into her room between 8:30-8:55 p.m. Wednesday in East Wilson Hall, yelling and screaming at her, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor.The three women used to be friends, but the friendship ended because of the boyfriend of the woman, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman told police she was talking on the phone when she received several phone calls on her cell phone from the former friends. After she did not answer the calls for a period of time, the woman told police she heard the two subjects enter the bathroom she shares with another person, demanding she open the door. The two women were yelling and swearing at the woman and were threatening to beat her up, McGlothian-Taylor said.The women in the bathroom began pulling on the chained door, trying to get in the room and pulled so hard the chain lock ripped off, she said.The woman in the room screamed as loud as she could as the two women came in, still swearing at her, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman told police she tried to get them to leave, but one of the women, a 19-year-old female student and Shaw resident, pushed the woman against the wall. The woman was held there for several seconds, until people in the hall heard yelling for help and for someone to call 911, at which point the two women left, McGlothian-Taylor said.The MSU Department of Police and Public Safety was able to interview the two women, and the case will be forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's office, she said.Lauren Phillips
