Conference focuses on Sudan conditions

February 7, 2005

Students went to Washington, D.C., this weekend to learn about violence in Sudan's Darfur region.

The 12 students took part in a national conference at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Friday. The museum has declared a genocide emergency for the region.

The conference will center on how students can raise awareness at their schools about Sudan.

The conference will run through Saturday with more sessions and workshops being held at Georgetown University on Sunday.
