A 19-year-old male student reported his laptop and cash taken from his Armstrong Hall room between 11:45 p.m. Dec. 14 and 1 p.m. Dec. 16.The student told police that he was visiting friends down the hall on Dec. 15 between midnight and 2 a.m. and left his door unlocked, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student told police he didn't notice the items missing until Dec. 16.The computer is valued at $1,800 and there was about $230 in cash missing from his wallet, McGlothian-Taylor said.The case is still under investigation and there are no suspects, A 60-year-old male university employee reported damaged ceiling tiles last month in his first-floor office in the Engineering Research Complex.It appeared someone had been walking or crawling above the ceiling tiles between Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. and Dec. 17 at 11 a.m., McGlothian-Taylor said. There were no signs that anyone made an entry into one of the two rooms of the office, and nothing appeared to be taken, she said.The value of the damages has not yet been estimated, McGlothian-Taylor said.
