Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures visiting Professor Frank Manista will present the film "Brazil" at 7 p.m. tonight in room W449 of the Main Library.

Shown as part of the library's Friday Night Film Series, this 1985 dark comedy ventures into a bizarre futuristic world where people are controlled by the state, while technology remains unchanged. Jonathan Pryce stars as Sam Lowry, an office worker who discovers a paperwork mistake that might send the wrong man to prison.

"Brazil," starring Robert De Niro and Ian Holm, is written and directed by ex-Monty Python member Terry Gilliam, who also directed "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."

Admission is free.
