An 18-year-old female student was involved in a domestic assault with her boyfriend of four years early Saturday morning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student told police her 21-year-old Williamston boyfriend had been drinking, and began yelling at her in her West Holmes Hall dorm room just before 3 a.m. He reportedly shoved her against the wall and she ran from the room.The boyfriend left the building through the east side doors, and was unable to re-enter the hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. A witness told police the boyfriend began punching and kicking the door until the glass shattered.The man was arrested for domestic assault, malicious destruction of property and probation violation. The case was referred to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. • About $8,400 in farm equipment was destroyed near the Beef Cattle Research and Teaching Center between Friday night and Saturday morning, McGlothian-Taylor said.A scale reportedly was "completely damaged" when an unknown driver in an unknown vehicle drove into the scale on the east side of the building between 7 p.m. Friday and 7:50 a.m. Saturday.A heater and other equipment received thousands of dollars in damage, McGlothian-Taylor said.• A 19-year-old female South Hubbard Hall resident filed a harassment complaint against a man who allegedly tried to photograph her in the shower early Saturday morning, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman told police she was showering just after 2 a.m. when a male acquaintance entered the bathroom through her suitemate's open door. The student reportedly opened the shower curtain halfway and didn't see the man, but she then saw him looking into the shower from the other side of the curtain. The student told police that when she pulled the curtain closed, the man looked over the top of the shower, trying to take her picture with a camera phone.The two argued for about 10 minutes, and then a suitemate convinced him to leave.Officers haven't made contact with the man yet, said McGlothian-Taylor, who added that she wasn't sure if the student will press charges.
