Four students from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management took first-place honors at the National Black MBA Case Competition held in Houston, Texas.
The business administration graduate students were given a case written by Chrysler managers that dealt with Chrysler financial services. Students had to develop a business strategy that would build enduring trust between customers and the company, while enhancing brand loyalty.
Team members are Akilah Ellis, Laith Maddur, Kendall Sykes and Carlos Johnson.
The team competed against 30 other teams from business schools across the country, such as the University of California Los Angeles, Duke University and a number of Big Ten schools including the University of Michigan.
The four team members will share $15,000 in scholarships awarded by DaimlerChrysler AG, which sponsored the competition.
