A mail truck driven by a 43-year-old male from DeWitt hit a Chevy Equinox on the corner of Red Cedar Road and Shaw Lane yesterday afternoon, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian -Taylor said.

The driver of the Equinox, a 54-year-old male from Rockford, sustained minor injuries. Although an ambulance was called to the scene, no one was taken to the hospital. The East Lansing Fire Department and MSU Police Department both responded to the call.

Earlier the same day, an 18-year-old female from Livonia was hit on her bike as she went through the crosswalk at Red Cedar Road and Shaw Lane by a 20-year-old driving an undescribed vehicle, Taylor said.

The 18-year-old sustained minor injuries and did not receive medical attention. The East Lansing Fire Department was contacted and responded to the call.
