Police briefs 06/01/04

• A grill was stolen from Spartan Village this past weekend, MSU Department of Police and Public Safety Sgt. Maureen Kennedy said.The Weber model grill, valued at $79, was stored outside in the 1549 area of Spartan Village. The complainant, a 25-year-old student, and the owner of the grill, told police it was taken between 5 p.m. on Friday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police have no suspects.• A video projector, valued at $3,800, was taken from North Kedzie Hall on Thursday between 5:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Kennedy said.A 40-year-old male faculty member noticed the equipment missing, which was connected to the ceiling in a classroom. The owner of the property is the MSU Computer Center. Police have no suspects at this time and the crime has been forwarded to the MSU DPPS Investigations Division. Kennedy said it appeared the equipment was cable locked to the ceiling. The cable was found cut.• More than $100 was stolen from a desk in a room at the Office of Gifted and Talented Education Honors College, Kennedy said. No damage was reported to the desk or office door by the complainant, a 58-year-old female faculty member.Jonathan Malavolti
