Dreamgirls

If music is what keeps you going through the day, then Riverwalk Theatre's production of "Dreamgirls" is sure to put a smile on your face.

The show explores American music through the Dreamettes from the pot-smoking '60s to the erratically dressed disco of the '70s.

Directed by Anthony Sump and Rick Wendorf, the pop musical written by Tom Eyen features a cast of close to 20 people to dance and sing the night away.

"Dreamgirls" runs Thursday through Feb. 8, with Thursday performances starting at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $16 for the general public and $14 for students and seniors.

MSU students will perform 20 monologues Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Wharton Center's Pasant Theater.

Proceeds from the production will go towards the Battered Women's Clemency Project in Ann Arbor.
