The Michigan State hockey team (8-7-1 overall, 6-3-1 CCHA) plays intrastate rival No. 9 Michigan (9-5-0, 5-3-0) in a home-and-home series this weekend.

The Wolverines play host at 7:35 p.m. on Friday at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor. The Spartans will return to Munn Ice Arena for game two at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.

The Spartans are tied for third place in the CCHA with Miami (OH), while Michigan holds down the fifth-place spot.

After the weekend, the Spartans will have time off for finals week and will return to play in an exhibition with the U.S. under-18 team on Dec. 17.
