At the movies

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"

Though not as good as the original, teenage girls are sure to scream at the top of their lungs with this remake of the 1970s horror flick.

Rated R, 3.5 stars

"The House of the Dead"

Someone should have burnt this house down. This movie is an irredeemable piece of garbage.

Rated R, 2 stars

"Intolerable Cruelty"

The only bad thing about this movie is that the Coen brothers didn't totally write the script.

Rated PG-13, Rated 4.5 stars

"Kill Bill: Vol. 1"

You may want to wear a raincoat when you see this movie. Blood might land on your clothes.

Rated R, 5 stars

"Mystic River"

A great suspense film. If you like good thrillers with actors at the top of their form, then check this one out.

Rated R, 4.5 stars

"Runaway Jury"

A great cast with a little bit of a corny plot. It'll entertain, but there is a kind of "been there, done that before" feel to it.

Rated PG-13, 3 stars

"School of Rock"

Rock out with this great Jack Black movie.

Rated PG-13, 4 stars

"Secondhand Lions"

A little corny, but worth the ticket price. Just another great Robert Duvall movie.

Rated PG, 4 stars

"The Rundown"

Packed with action, but with a script a 12-year-old boy probably wrote. This one is strictly for wrestling fans.

Rated PG-13, 3 stars

"Under the Tuscan Sun"

A chick flick with little in the way of surprises. Still, there are characters you care about, with great cinematography.

Rated PG-13, 3.5 stars
