Science center hosts parent-child activities

Impression 5 Science Center in downtown Lansing will host monthly parent-child workshops that focus on fun science-based themes.

The workshop will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at the Center, 200 Museum Drive.

This weekend, the workshop will focus on the history and physics of trebuchets, medieval catapults. Each parent-child team will watch a video, attend a demonstration and construct their own tabletop trebuchet to take home.

The cost of the workshop is $35 per parent-child team, which includes admission to Impression 5, the parent-child workshop, a snack and a trebuchet-building kit.

Those interested in attending must reserve a spot by calling Marion at (517) 485-8116 ext. 31 or by e-mailing contompasis@impression5.org.

For more information, call Erik D. Larson at (517) 485-8116 ext. 43.
