Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Noise is part of college town; stop complaining

There are too many people that speed down the streets of East Lansing.

I think it's time to wake people up and do something about it.

I suggest that anyone driving more than 5 mph should receive a $500 ticket.

Although, if there are more than two speed indicators in the car (i.e. caffeine, loud music, cell phones, food, etc.) that person should be thrown in jail for three days.

I hope you see what I am getting at, but the new laws being made in East Lansing sound like something out of George Orwell's "1984."

A college town will always be just that - a college town.

That means noise, parties, alcohol and more noise.

I know it's hard to realize there are people out there that don't respect others but there are and there always will be.

I know that I would never want to live in a college town after I graduated because of these reasons nor would I want to live in Seattle because I don't like the rain.
