Lynching lecture to address supremacy

The department of African American and African studies will host a lecture titled "The Lynching of Black America: The Case of James Cameron" from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on September 15 in the Kellogg Center Auditorium.

The lecture will examine the place of past and present white supremacy in American society. The focus will be on the 1930 Marion, Indiana lynching, where James Cameron was scheduled to be lynched and escaped.

The lecture will be given by Cameron, who is also the founder and director of America's Black Holocaust Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The event is free and open to the public.
