Humane society hosts annual walk

September 15, 2003

The dog days of summer may be coming to a close, but for the Capital Area Humane Society, it is a great time for a walk.

The Capital Area Humane Society 2003 Walk for the Animals will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge.

The walk, in its 11th year, will benefit homeless and abandoned animals.

Hundreds of people and their dogs are expected to participate in the walk.

Other events include a police dog demonstration, obstacle course and Frisbee dog and flyball demonstrations.

More than 8,000 animals end up in the hands of the Capital Area Humane Society each year.
