Charity to celebrate 35th anniversary

The Cristo Rey Community Center will celebrate its 35th anniversary of service to the Lansing area with three community events during Hispanic Heritage month.

An automobile and motorcycle show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Cristo Rey Community Center, 1717 N. High St. in Lansing.

The event will also feature food, music and prizes. Proceeds will go to Cristo Rey's People with Disabilities program.

The center will host an anniversary dinner at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Holiday Inn South Convention Center, 6820 S. Cedar St. in Lansing.

The dinner will include a silent auction and a raffle for a 1986 Cutlass Cierra.

Tickets will be sold for $35 each.

The third event will be a Cristo Rey Community Center Senior Citizen Open House from 2-4 p.m. on Oct. 16 at the community center.
