A 27-year-old male student reported the theft of his backpack from the lobby of Mason Hall on Thursday night, MSU police Lt. Kelly Beck said.The backpack and its contents, including books and a Samsung camera, are valued at $2,118, Beck said. The student said the backpack was left unattended on the floor for 15 minutes.• A 25-year-old woman reported the theft of her briefcase from Communication Arts and Sciences Building on Thursday night, Beck said.The briefcase is valued at $60, Beck said. The woman was attending a journalism workshop when she left the briefcase in a room overnight. She returned to find the briefcase missing with the contents dumped on a table.
