A 22-year-old female student reported a $300 Nextel cell phone stolen from room 112 in Bessey Hall on Tuesday afternoon, MSU police Lt. John McCandless said. The student left the phone in her sweatshirt at a desk during class while the class broke into groups for assignment, McCandless said. When she returned, the cell phone was gone. A 44-year-old female university employee reported her $10 purse stolen from her office in the MSU-Detroit College of Law Building on Tuesday morning, McCandless said.The employee left the door to her office unlocked and open for 10 minutes and when she returned the purse was missing, McCandless said. The purse contained $40 and a driver's license. A 22-year-old female student reported her $20 wallet stolen from the third floor of Student Services Tuesday morning, McCandless said. The student set her purse on top of her desk, left for 15 minutes and when she returned the wallet was missing from her purse, McCandless said. The wallet contained a driver's license and credit card. A 24-year-old female student reported a $1,500 Toshiba laptop computer stolen from her car Tuesday morning, McCandless said. The car was parked in Lot 39 near the International Center. When the student returned to her vehicle, the computer, on loan from the College of Education, was missing.
