Flat's Grille, 551 E. Grand River Ave., will host a Jason Mraz listening party from 6-8 p.m. today.

The party is in support of his upcoming show Wednesday at St. Andrews Hall, 431 E. Congress St. in Detroit. Free posters, CDs, autographs and pins will be raffled off.

Local super tour

Three local Michigan bands are sweeping through the area Friday and Saturday with "The Big Bamboo tour."

Jam rockers The Flow, Bump and Grasshoppah hit The Temple Club, 500 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing, on Friday. The 18 and older show also features With Special Guest. Tickets are $5 for 21 and up and $8 for those 18 to 20. On Saturday, the tour ventures to Ann Arbor for an appearance at Hash Bash 2003.

Dates also are scheduled in Illinois and Indiana.

Cherry pickings

All the way from Traverse City, modern rock group Indulge makes its debut at Rick's American Cafe, 224 Abbott Road, from 10:30-11:30 p.m. today.

The band has been admittedly influenced by 311, Depeche Mode and Jimmy Eat World, giving the band a unique sound that has the ability to attract a wide variety of attention.

Cover is $3 for the 21-and-older show. Doors open at 8 p.m.
