If you're looking for something spicy in downtown East Lansing, you don't have too many options.
And if you're like us, you've made a run for the border a few too many times this semester - and, oh, do we mean runs. For a slightly more upscale option, try El Azteco. It's a little more expensive, but we still managed to locate a good meal for less than $5.
The food: Two chicken tacos ($3.60) and water from a campus drinking fountain (free).
Total with tax: $3.82
Place: El Azteco, 225 Ann St. (517)351-9111
Hours: 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11-midnight Friday and Saturday and noon-10:30 p.m. Sunday; summer hours are 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. every day
Delivery: Available for an extra fee through Special Delivery, 5220 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Lansing, (517)882-1777. Remember to give the driver a tip.
Xtras: Salsa can be added for free.
Our thoughts: El Azteco's tacos are a little smaller than the ones at Taco Bell, but they're filled with plenty of toppings, and the salsa added a nice kick. We definitely needed the water.
