Union gets longer contract
The Clerical-Technical Union has tentatively agreed to extend a four-year contract with MSU through March 31, 2007.
With state budget cuts threatening universities, union President Barbara Reeves said in a written statement the negotiating team worked hard to defend the union's lay-off language.
The team also clarified much of the language in the contract and many of the current policies. The union hopes that through the contract there will be a better relationship between management and those with problems in the workplace.
The negotiating team will be available to discuss the new contract with members on April 29 at the union's membership meeting.
