Police briefs 02/25/03

A 21-year-old male student reported the front driver's side tire on his 1992 Chevrolet Lumina was stolen between Feb. 9 and Sunday in the northwest corner of the commuter lot, Lot 89, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The value of the loss is estimated at $100 and police have no suspects.• A 49-year-old male employee reported the wood trim of three doors and the doors' glass windows broken Sunday at the Gilchrist Hall loading dock, McGlothian-Taylor said.The value of the loss is estimated at $225 and police have no suspects.• A 33-year-old man not affiliated with the university reported the odor of gas in the area near Harrison Avenue and Crescent Road, McGlothian-Taylor said.The East Lansing Fire Department determined Spartan Village Apartments did not need to be evacuated and Consumer's Energy determined a gas line might have broken as a result of the ground being frozen.
