The play "Art," by Yasmina Reza is a comedic look at friendships. It is playing at 8 p.m. on March 7 at Boarshead Theater, 425 S. Grand Ave. in Lansing.
The play runs through March 30.
The international award-winning play has been a hit with audiences in Europe and in the United States.
The story follows Serge, who purchases a painting for a large sum of money. His friend Marc thinks he has wasted his money and a third friend tries to keep them from fighting each other.
Judith Peakes is the director and said it is a real showcase for actors.
"The humor comes out of the language. In fact, its sparkling use of dialogue is what really attracted me to it," the Lansing resident said.
Described as a sophisticated comedy, Peakes said its humor is something everyone can relate to.
"It has to do with the art of friendships, and that is something that is universal," she said.
