Public meeting to discuss road

The East Lansing Transportation Commission will discuss improvements to the Trowbridge Road and Harrison Avenue intersection at 7:30 p.m. today.

The public hearing will be held in the 54-B District Court Room No. 2 at City Hall, 101 Linden St.

Changes including redesigning the median island on Trowbridge Road, installing traffic signals for easier access to the business center and installation of an eastbound left turn lane on Trowbridge Road onto Arbor Drive, will be discussed.

Other changes include moving a left turn lane on northbound Harrison Avenue 300 feet north.

The commission is composed of nine members of the community selected for their interest and expertise in fields related to transportation. The commission advises city council members on matters pertaining to effective transportation by motorized and nonmotorized vehicles and recommends policies concerning the safety of the public on the streets.
