Police ticketed a 21-year-old male student Monday night for using marijuana at Hubbard Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. Officers issued a misdemeanor court appearance ticket to the student. A purse was stolen between 8:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Monday from a South Case Hall dorm room, McGlothian-Taylor said.The purse, valued at $30, was left in the room of an 18-year-old female student who reported the theft. The student left the purse on a dresser in her unlocked room because she knew people inside her room, but when she returned after classes the purse, which contained personal items, was missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.There are no suspects. A 19-year-old male student reported his flip cell phone valued at $100 was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday in the North Business College-Complex, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student left the phone in an open bag under his desk during a break in class and when he came back, it was gone, McGlothian-Taylor said.
