A 19-year-old male student received a citation for possession of marijuana Sunday at McDonel Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student has been assigned to court.• A fire was reported Saturday morning in the basement of the Administration Building, McGlothian-Taylor said. When an officer and the East Lansing Fire Department arrived at the scene, no smoke or fire could be detected.It was determined a small electrical fire occurred in the circuit panel of a fire alarm. Power was cut to the panel and it stopped melting without action from the fire department.The university electrician called the appropriate people to fix the panel, McGlothian-Taylor said. The reason for the malfunction couldn't be determined, however electrical work was done on it last week, McGlothian-Taylor said.Damage is about $200.• The State News reported Thursday that a 19-year-old female said her textbook, backpack, hat, gloves, calculator and an mp3 player were stolen Tuesday morning at the MSU Bookstore.However, McGlothian-Taylor said Monday the woman misplaced her backpack and it wasn't stolen. When the student recovered it, nothing was missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.
