What's happening?

Organization Meetings

• The MSU Chess Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in A-517 Wells Hall. Participants are asked to provide their own chess sets and clocks. Meetings are held every Monday. For more information, e-mail msuchess@msu.edu.

• Habitat for Humanity will hold a general membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Illinois Room of the Union. The group builds homes for those in need and runs programs such as Book Buddies. For more information, call Kathie Zmija at (517)355-1961 or e-mail her at zmijakat@msu.edu.

Sports

• The MSU Scuba Club hosts underwater hockey at 8:15 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday in the IM Sports-Circle pool. No experience is necessary, just bring a bathing suit. For more information, e-mail the MSU Scuba Club at msuscuba@msu.edu.

• The MSU Aikido Club holds training from 6:45-8:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 2-3:30 p.m. Sundays in the IM Sports-West Judo Room. Aikido, the way of harmony, grew out of the combat disciplines of Japanese Samurai. Beginners are always welcome. For more information, call Laura Carrion at (517)353-6138.

Lectures

• The Michigan Botanical Club will host speaker Mel Koelling at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in 168 Plant Biology Bldg. Koelling's research interests include the biological and economic aspects of Christmas tree production as well as the evaluation of alternate species for the Christmas tree market.
