A 39-year-old male MSU employee reported two fire extinguishers missing from East Wilson Hall on Wednesday, MSU police Lt. Kelly Beck said.The employee was walking through the third floor of the hall when he noticed the fire extinguishers were gone and must have been taken between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, Beck said.At 3:45 p.m. Wednesday it was reported that the fire extinguishers were found discharged on a section of the hall roof over the hall manager's office, Beck said.The fire extinguishers are valued at $170.• A 31-year-old female student reported her backpack stolen from her office in Wells Hall on Wednesday, Beck said.Between 12:40 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday the backpack was taken from a desk in the unlocked office, Beck said.The door to the office also was left half open, Beck said.The backpack, a wallet and two textbooks are valued at $120. • A 21-year-old female student reported her Nextel cell phone stolen from her purse while she was studying at the Main Library on Wednesday, Beck said.The student left her purse on the floor near where she was studying, and left it unattended a few times between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and midnight Wednesday, Beck said.The cell phone is valued at $425.Alison Barker
